Venue Information
The conference will meet this year on the campus of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C..
Conference sessions will be held on the Georgetown Main Campus in New North in the afternoon on Friday, April 25th, and all day on Saturday, April 26th. A PDF map of the campus is also available. Gender neutral restrooms can all be found on the second floor of New North, where we will meet.
The Georgetown campus is adjacent to the Georgetown neighborhood and M-street. It is just a short walk from Foggy Bottom, Arlington, and Dupont Circle, with all of their entertainment, sightseeing, food, and drink options.
Getting to D.C.
The Washington D.C. Metro region is served by three major airports, Reagan National/DCA, Dulles International in Virginia, and Thurgood Marshall/B.W.I. in Baltimore.
All three airports offer various transit options into the city, but we strongly recommend, if possible, using Reagan National/D.C.A. It is the closest of the three and most convenient, offering the widest array of options for transit into the city via rail, cab, and ride share.
Getting around D.C.
WMATA is the D.C. area's public transit service. They operate the Metrorail system, home to some of the most famous subway system architecture in the United States. Metrorail service can take you all over the city, from the Smithsonian stop to the National Zoo, from happening U-Street to brunch-forward Eastern Market.
All fares can be paid via mobile app and trips are reasonably priced.
Busses, taxis and rideshares are also available throughout the city.
Getting to Georgetown
Georgetown has a comprehensive website devoted to how to get to campus. Of particular note are the free GUTS shuttle busses that operate week-round from Dupont Circle in D.C. and Rosslyn in Virginia.
Washington D.C.'s public transit system (WMATA) also runs a bus from to the Georgetown Campus, the G2 bus line (pdf link), which runs through both Logan and Dupont Circles.
Accommodations
There is no conference hotel or room block, but D.C. has a large number and variety of options, many of them both affordable and under a mile and a half by foot to the venue or nearby to transit options.
Some nearby options are listed here, and there are a number of pleasant and affordable options equally close by. There is also a flourishing AirBnB scene in and near Georgetown and its adjacent neighborhoods.
